Dear Friends,

As 2012 comes to close and we enter a new year, Ghost Road Company would like to take a moment to thank all of you for your support, friendship, and inspiration. This past year was a great one for us, albeit a quiet, “building” year. We spent a good part of the year devising and developing our latest ensemble piece “The Bargain and the Butterfly“, which we showed some of in July. An ensemble retreat at the beginning of the year resulted in a clear, shared vision for the future and a road map to get there. After ten years, we finally have a new, modern website. Ghost Road was pleased to participate in the first two Los Angeles Lady Arm Wrestling events, putting forth our own “Trewley Skrumchous” (Kim) and her entourage of miscreant family members. We were also asked by the Polish Consulate and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute to present a staged reading of Pawel Demirski ‘s “Diamonds are the Coal that Got Down to Business” (adapted by Kevin King) in November. And in August we presented a one-day intensive in our devising process, with great success.

2013 is shaping up to be an exciting year for us:

It begins with another Ensemble Devising Workshop on January 12th. Participants will explore tools the company uses in developing devised performance, taught by Katharine Noon and members of the ensemble.

In March, we will premiere “The Bargain and the Butterfly” at Artworks Theatre in Hollywood. The piece will be presented Tuesdays-Sundays March 26-31 and April 2-7. Two weeks only! Tickets go on sale in mid-January, so get yours early.

And In October, we have been invited to present our production of Malgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk ‘s play “Pantofelnik’s Suitcase” in the Korczak Festival in Warsaw. While there, we will also present “Bargain” and participate in a residency with 52°43′N 19°42′E Project .

In addition, we look forward to touring some of our original works like “Bargain” and “Stranger Things” during the Spring and Summer, and we are exploring a permanent home/work space.

As we move forward in this adventure, we hope you will join us at each step and if you would like to help us with a donation of any size, we would be very grateful. You can easily donate to Ghost Road here.

Once again, thank you for your support and we wish you a very Happy New Year!

Katharine, Mark, Brian, Christel, Ronnie, Kim, and Ron.
